I've been having some issues with a C42 code showing up on my 94. Based on the work I've done, following the FSM diagnostics and checking for corroded grounds, and using the expertise from other C4 owners on the Tech and Performance Forum, I am of the opinion (and so are they) that I may have a defective PROM. I recently purchased a new reman PCM and installed my old PROM in it. Nothing changed. The C42 code is not supposed to throw the SES light, but it does. My cooling fans run all the time and they're new with new relays installed, AND the car runs and drives fantastic. So I'm believing I have a bad PROM that either needs reflashing or replacing. Soooooooo, where do I go? Are new PROMS available, and if so, where? Or, should I get it reflashed? AND who does that? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I believe you are talking about the knock module.
That is the only external part of a PCM which can be R/R unlike the earlier ECM's that had a removable memcal ( prom )
