What brand of fuel pump is it ?
A Holley Blue fuel Pump?
Mallory?
Weldon ?
Walbro?
"T" - Rex pump ?
Fuel pressure test with a gauge will help troubleshooting.
If You have an external WELDON EFI- CARBURATED Fuel pump,
You have the very best $$ money can buy.
I wouldn't worry that much about the noise. If the pump is contacting the frame, it could make a racket. As Brian suggested, check the pressure. If it is putting out 13-15 psi and maintaining the pressure, you should be ok. Maybe some rubber insulation between the pump and frame is all you need.
My Pump is putting out between 8 & 10lbs. of pressure, could this be why i have the hesitation when I give it the gas. Thank You
This must be the day for pumps to fail. I'm going thru something similiar myself. Anyways if your still a crossfire setup. Your fuel pressure should see 9-13 psi at idle and wot. If your 8-10 psi then there is a good chance that could cause your hesitation. If you find that your pump is indeed bad then replace it with a 85 pump instead.
Wait, you have an external pump so the 85 won't work, thats for inside the tank. Are you using the crossfire regulator or something else?
it has beed changed over to a 4bbl Holly carb on my 1984 vette.
Just a FYI,
It does help to list your mods when posting for help in troubleshooting. Unless noted other members will assume you are still using the crossfire.
