What is involved in the swap? My recent transmission debocle has me thinking about a swap. (mine is fried:( ) I would prefer a manual any way. Is it a rough swap?
Thanks for making up my mind as usual. You all are great! :yesnod:
Re: 700R4 to 6spd conversion anyone been there? (x_streme)
I havent done the swap but read couple things on it. Basically what your gonna hear.... Dont do it.. its a waste of money... sell your car and buy a 6-spd... A 6-spd tranny is quite expensive... and then u have to get the computer and wires and nonsence. Unless you have some emotional attachment to your car... it isnt cost effective.... 6-spd is great though, i love mine
EDIT: I missed the part where it said yours is fried... it isnt TO bad if u need a new tranny anyways... its still gonna be a decent amount more... but ur not gonna have an easy time selling your car like that... so it acually might be something to think about

I just recently did it. You can search for the posts in C4 Tech, probably archived by now.
I like the car more now, but I use mine alot for road course drivers ed events (instructor). If you cannot find the past posts, let me know what info you need.
