Need pictures to see what the panel where the carpet goes, and the back of the carpet to see if there is any damage.
If it's not too damaged, you can use a can of standared carpet adhesive. The stuff I used before I replaced the door panels was in a spray can.
Remove ALL of the glue from both the door and the carpet. Adhesive remover, some heat and a scraper will get most of it off the door. It gets messy, so make sure you have some shop rags around.
Post a pic of the panel and back of carpet.

Glue
Hi, I just replaced mine... used POWER GRAB by Locktite, Picked it at local hardware store, THis adhesive is a construction adhesive and works just great on just about anything.
Good luck

mine is in a lot worse shape. The edge of the panel is buckled up to. I shot some contact cement in there and stapled it down. Got the carpet to cover up the staples.
