On my way to converting to a LT4 from a 92 LT1. I still need the Hot cam kit and 95 opti and all the gaskets. I'll be taking pictures along the way. If anyone has done this upgrade and has a few pictures or advice please jump in.

EM's Got a great deal on a group purchase. I still need the cats and extentions to my catback.

BTW, I followed your thread on the clutch deal, WOW! But I learned a lot from it.

Your '92 had a "one year only" opti harness which has a square-end connection on one end and a short connection on the opti-side. If you're updating to a later style vented design, you'll have to upgrade the harness as well.

You can do this by either buying a later-model harness, cutting off the one end and splicing in your '92 specific square end, or, even easier, buy a harness that's already been spliced for you for a quick, simple, plug and play swap.

Should only run you up another $45 or so which, judging by the amount of money you've spent so far, shouldn't be that big of a deal.

Here's a place that sells the harness I'm referring to.

Hope this helps. Good luck with the upgrades.

I can only average what other guys posted for hp ranges and that would be around 400 plus at the crank. That's good enough for now. I also learned that injectors on the LT4 are 28lbs and they should be fine, but I haven't bought those yet. Maybe 30lbs would be better? For tuning, I'll be going with PCM here on the forum.

Wow, thanks for the info. I looked at the Edlebrock LT1 to LT4 swap kit and I'm no where near in cost to what their's is. I'm just buying a part here and a part there. This fall/winter will be fun time in my garage

well if your asking me on the fuel injectors... (i'm not a tuner btw, just trying to finish my build off, lol)... I can give you this:

http://www.ajdesigner.com/phpengine/...efficiency.php

http://users.erols.com/srweiss/calcpchg.htm

http://www.z31.com/software/injector.pl

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c4-t...questions.html

Or, I can tell you to call John Banner, at FICinjectors, and have him select the appropriate size Bosch 3's to fit your engine. it's what I finally did today.

I second this part, Bought my 95+ opti conversion harness from these guys on ebay when I cammed and rebuilt my engine... It was a nice plug and play deal with no wire spliceing!

You should create a thead when you start swapping for us to enjoy... Also, Im interested in hearing about PCM mentioned and the tuning on this build...

Good Luck!

I do plan on taking photos and writing a journal about the build. It'll be our own reality show right here on CF. I'll use the FSM for most of my information because it sets up a good checklist of things to be done and in order. But there is always something that it doesn't explain very well or assumes you know how to do. What I need is a better photo program than what I have on my computer. Mine is too complex just to load photos.

I just ordered the harness. Thanks for the tip and link. My third online order. This is too easy.....could be dangerous.

I hope to do just that. We 92 owners have to stick together.

Hopefully so. Then it will make a serious difference in performance over the LT1 at least.

I'm not doing any major porting, just port matching and polishing. I'd sure like to learn how to polish the ports.

Now that I have most of the harder parts to get in hand, I'm really getting excited to start this upgrade. Once I have ALL the parts in hand and my garage is spotless, I'll pull the trigger and start the fun.

The black box is the Kent-Moore tool for removing and installing the LT1/4 crank hub. I just bought it as I didn't want to struggle with that again. The headers were around $500, but that was a few years ago. Like I said, I've been collecting these parts for a long time.
