Ok I could not find out anything by searching so I'll just ask outright... On friday on my way home from work My rear end (For lack of a better Term) Exploded... Now there is a Nice size hole in the side of the case, Now my Question is, Now that I found another Dana 44 Case out of another 87 with a 4+3 will I be Able to Fit in a set of 373 gears in the stock Case?
Wow!!! To answer your question I believe the viper 3.73 gearset will fit w/o modification. I do not think it is until 4.10s that you start to have issues. Just get them setup professionally so that they are right the 1st time.

Re: (scorp508)
If memory serves me anything higher than a 3.73 requires mods to the Dana 44. Scorp is right on the Viper gears (I think they are called Super 44 gears...) I understand they drop right in and may not require the shims the normal Corvette aftermarket gearsets require. Someone who has actually done the swap may want to clarify if I'm off base on anything here...
