At one time I thought I had found a Convertible top installation kit, which had the Velcro and Pads that prevent Frame to body Contact. For the life of me, I can not come up with ANYTHING............can anyone help steer me in the right direction.
I've tackled a lot of jobs on mine..but that is one job I wouldn't even try..I've watched it being done at Carlisle and it looks pretty difficult..and I used to repair furniture..the upholstery was pretty hard to get right..need to get mine done as well..but I ain't doing it..good luck..post pics..
It appears Al Knoch (and/or others) may have an install vid
Good luck!
That's Cobo, I've seen that post, and maybe I need to send him a PM to ask about what I have yet to find, which is the pads that prevent the frame to body contact on the front bow and a source for the best type of velco to use. The thing that makes this job a little bit different than what's being posted, is that I'm not just replacing a top. My frame will be completly disassembled and powdercoated. Once that's done and I have to put it back together, I'll have to replace those pads that GM installs and I haven't seen anyone in the top aftermarket sell.

LOL, Well history has shown that I don't run from the ugly jobs!...........But Thanks and I'll see how this thing goes!.......I might have to call someone up, but I also think that since Carlise is next weekend, I'll go over and see if Al has anything that will help out in this situation!
Only thing that really scares me about this job is..the use of glue..which means there might not be any going back if you screw up somewhere..I like mechanical jobs..that you can unscrew/unbolt..I would love to get a first hand in depth look at this..nothing beats saving money on labor..and my top looks like hell..
