Hi guy's and gals I had a question about the location of the superchargers I have been seeing on the web and something has fructurated me all the pics I have come across have the supercharger located on the drivers side mounted right above the header and to me I don't like the location I think you would be sucking hot air constantly from the headers, does anybody have any input about this and if so pics would be great thanks for reading
i think greg from blowerworks answered a question about this.iirc he said during testing thier was no advantage in moving the inlet further from the s/c inlet.
It has actually been shown numerous times that the restriction of relocating the SC inlet far offsets any gains to be had in a moving vehicle.
I have tested on my car as well. Even though IATs can get very high when the car is idling, as soon as the car is in motion, the IATs drop to just slightly above ambiant. There is a lot of airflow from the bottom side of the car that displaces the hot air that would expected to be around the header.
My inlet remains above the L valvecover, as there was not enough room between the master cylinder and the blower inlet.
