First off my 90 has been sitting awhile I hooked the battery charger to it overnight and the next day she started right up. So I left it run for awhile it idled smooth then all of a suden just shut off. Could the fuel pump be going bad? What if I hooked a fuel pressure gage to the fuel rail and see what it does when it shuts off. Could it be electrical? Pipe
I had exactly the same problem. The car(90) would idle perfectly in the garage and then mysteriously shut off...just like the key was turned off.
It turned out to be a loose connection at the battery feed to the distributor. I repaired the connection by simply squeezing it a bit tighter Several years have passed all is well....problem solved.
Take a close look at the two wires that enter the base of the distributor. One has a brown clip and the other a white. The white clip on the right with a pink wire is the battery feed.
Could be fuel or electrical. Hook up a pressure gauge and monitor the fuel pressure when it shuts off again. It it still reads 40 psi when it shuts off, fuel is ok, spark is not.
I took the car for a ride to blow out the cobwebs after about 20 min. it shut off again. When I hooked up the volt meter to it while it was running it was 14.2 Called Pop told him to bring the jumper cables. After a min. it started. When I got back I let it sit awhile the battery voltage said 11.8 then half hour later 11.5 BAD BATTERY causing this? Pipe

Bad battery or Alternator is dying...although, you may want to look at the ICM or Coil...may be heat related, causing it to lose spark generation. As soon as it dies, pull one of the plug wires, short it out to metal and crank it over to see if you have any spark. No spark means you have something wrong probably in the distributor area, i.e., coil, ICM.
