Two cosmetic dash questions. 1985
1. What holds the dash pad down on the passenger's side above the crash pad in the corner? I don't see any screw holes and my dash doesn't have a clip there. The problem is that that far corner is raised and bounces when I drive.
2. Is there a piece of trim above and all across the top of the crash pad? I can see under the dash through a 1/2 inch or so space showing the crash pad's two brackets.
Hey, maybe fixing #1 woulod improve #2 !

Remove the side fuse panel cover and there is a screw there on the corner

There is no strip across the top. Left and right are the mounts. The right panel (that has the fuse cover built-in) does cover the right end of the bump pad, but has nothing (that I know of) to do with the top dash hold-down.
There is a 1"x1"strip on either side that extends from the inner windshield trim, curves down the window brace and stops at mid-door jam. This piece aids in putting downward pressure on the very corner of the dash pad.
When I redid my car, I ended up making two felt strips for the ends of the dash pad. I glued them to the dash pad where it meets with the windshield pillar. This helped suppress squeaks.
Mostly, I believe the dash pad is held in place by: clips at the front corners, screws in the defroster vent, screws above the dash, and screws above the radio bezel. Rigidity of the entire piece does the rest. But, I think it needed something at the rear corners to help with stability as you suggest.
