Several months ago I bought a Redline replacement shift boot for my '85 and was so pleased with it I asked them if they made a replacement ebrake cover. They said they didn't but would add it to their line if I would send them the worn out cover and if I would test the prototype and write up installation instructions, they'd give me the prototype for free.
I've just finished installing the prototype and am quite pleased with the result. I expect Redline will add it to their product line and this model will fit '84-'87 (the handle for '88-'96 is different). I do not know their pricing.
Their take on the cover was to do it in two pieces - an upper handle cover and a lower lever cover. To keep installation easy, the top of the lower lever cover tucks into the bottom of the top handle cover.
A picture of the cover installed is below

Redline spiffed up the upper handle cover by folding under the leather at the bottom (to give it a nice edge), I installed it, took some pix and it's up on their website (scroll down the page). John.
