The issue for me is that the DR's will fit right in, no rims to buy, no backspacing issues. But, will the slicks yield much of a difference at the track?
If so, I would be looking at buying 15 x 10 rims and 26 x 10.5 x 15 or 28 x 11.5 x 15 depending on what I can stuff under the fenderwells.
The 15 x 10's will fit, but you'll need the longer studs, a 5/16 spacer and you have to grind down the caliper a little.
I'm in the process of doing this now.
If you have a set of extra rims, you might as well go with all out slicks, but it all depends on the size of the rim as well. A friend of mine had a set of E.T. Streets on 16 inch firebird wheels. They fit perfectly on my car. They are a hair taller, which allowed me to hold out 3rd gear.
I can tell you this much, I WAS impressed. I was able to do a moderate burnout and get these things so sticky that my motor would bog down from a 4500 rpm dump. That's a LOT of holding power.
Obviously you make more power, but I think they would hold for you. By some miracle I didn't break anything :)
