Default Headers on a 85' question

What is the best thing to do with the wiring on the starter to protect them from the heat of the header tubes? extend them and reroute? high temp wire covers? Does any one have pictures of what they did? Or how the did it? Some of the wires go over to the AC system area?

Starter blanket. About $20. Velcro wraps around your starter and wires. I used [foil-backed] heat tape to make sure it stayed put.

The heat tape came in handy for several parts of the engine compartment. Fuel and brake lines were a biggey.

There is supposed to be an aluminum heat shield installed, but 99% of people don't put it back on when they change the starter or mess with the exhaust.

A starter blanket actually works better than the origional shield. I also rerouted my wires to be a bit farter away from the exahaust, but those wires are heat resistant. Just don't let them touch the exhaust itself.
