85 corvette fuel problem.
I have an all original car thats never been boogered with or rigged together as far as I know. The car has an unusual problem. Once I get down to a quarter tank of fuel under hard acceleration or cornering the engine starves for fuel. The engine doesn't die it just drops to an idle for a second and tries to go again. It feels like the fuel sloshes to the back of the tank and the sending unit cant pick it up. Also the car will run out of fuel as soon as the reserve light comes on with 2 fuel bars left on the gauge. Then it will only take 17 gallons to top off. I think the tank holds 20. Im not to familier with how the tank and inner workings are set up on this car. Im thinking the bottom of the sending unit fell off or is to high off of the tank floor. Does that sound right? How much of a pain is it to get to on that year model?
