Default 92 LT1 Clutch

I have a 92 that needs a clutch. I plan to use it for track days and maybe autocross. I would like some recommendations for clutch parts.
Any help appreciated.

I installed a Centerforce clutch after my engine rebuild a few years ago. I always had a vibration at higher RPM that I could not diagnose until it was too late. Ended up breaking the crankshaft in half, and we have diagnosed it to the clutch being out of balance. From an operation standpoint, the Centerforce works well, just make sure to have it balanced with the flywheel so you do not end up in the same boat I am now.

I bought a stock replacement kit from autozone with a warranty for cheap. It is a re-boxed valeo unit (OEM). I autocross and beat on it with no problems. I would recommend it if you are staying near stock power levels.

Btw, thoroughly check the hydraulics before diving into the clutch. My clutch looked great with 100k on it, but since I was in there anyways...

Thanks for the replies. I am old school and this is my first hydraulic clutch repair. The reason for me asking is I have to let the pedal near all out to get engagement. Seems to grip and go with no slipping. Just alot of pedal travel.
daytonaer - Did you replace the flywheel when you did yours?
allbowties - Since the crank broke I am guessing you didn't?

I guess I should check hydraulics and try to bleed the system first.
No power mods planned for this car, just maintaining and maybe brake improvements.
Thanks again.

I will bet your clutch fluid is low or the master is not pressurizing the system.

I know when I swapped mine for the 383 the original clutch was just starting to slip.

Thats the plan for this weekend, check clutch hydraulics. I replaced the brake fluid with fresh. But reading the manual clutch bleeding is different.

Thanks Kim. We missed you at the Dyno Day. My stone stock 1990 C4 pulled 355 horses. The guys were saying that Mikes dyno is conservative. But I was happy, 22 year old car with 26k mi. It books at 375. Thats it, it has been on the track and it has a current dyno, back on the mantle.
