Actually I use my cruise control all the time. When towing my tire trailer I am limited to 55 mph, generally you can get away with 60, after that your a real target especially on the toll road. When I am towing the car gets to 55 and I put it in cruise, and listen to the radio as I head for Qualcom or Auto Club Speedway.

Did it - easy install - like results - bright light LED blinds driver, painted over with Testor's blue paint - now it doesn't blind me...

I believe they are Oil Temp and I think I remember a choice for the 8th between Trans Temp or a clock but you would have to check with someone who has the 8 gauge package... Also, install was rather easy as long as you remove your dash pad (their installation guide lists removal as optional). It took me about 4 or 5 hours to complete job. Note that the VettAid name on panel is a very easy to remove decal. I removed mine the day after installing the kit, just as soon as I knew I was satisfied and would not ask to return.

Thanks, I could do without the trans temp gauge but the oil temp gauge is nice to have...I don't need a clock.....Maybe they would make me a 7 gauge cluster.......WW

The last time I heard anything about a clock I got in trouble. I hate the word "clock"

My girlfriend wanted a new watch for her birthday. I told her, "You don't need a watch......there's a clock on the stove". And I pointed to the kitchen. The knots and black eye healed nicely thank you.

Nice gauge set, I was just looking at these the other night. They plug right in from what I think I read making the installation easier. Don't they also come with plates for the computer panel? I saw someone else place gauges there, and it looked a odd from outside of the car, but worked nicely when driving.
I too would like to hear how the install goes.

I'm gonna take photos as I put it in. And yes... they do make a 2 gauge bezel for the english/meteric section of the dash. Or you can get a blank plate. i went with a 2 gauge bezel and ordered a digital Fuel psi,and digital vac gauge to place there. Gauges I got threw summit and come with senders. figured those would be convenient gauges to have.

The kit is indeed "plug and play" and installation is not at all difficult.

I use it all the time since even 10 miles over the speed limit would get me around $1200 fine and 5 points of my license. Crazy bureaucrats..

Nice gauge conversion.
For me I'd have gone for an earlier C4s only because of the LCD gauges.
I remember the first digital gauge I'd ever seen was on a Fiat Tipo back when I was a kid and it looked like a space ship... I was like woooow...

Bye

Guys, i plan on drag race my car and a good working tach its a must i hate the lag that the stock tach gives me, its just terrible im around 5000 when its displaying 3600 - then 4400 ...it very very sucky ! The transmission temp its a must as well with a high stall converter. Just toasted my tranny a month ago and i will repair it soon.
I Will get a giant cooler w/fan and i was thinking into a digital tach and a trans temp gauge. Now that this is here, im strongly pointing at it !

i really like this tach : which is $183.99

Auto Meter Sport-Comp Digital Series
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/ATM-6397/

and this trans temp gauge :
&M Analog Transmission Temperature Gauges
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/BMM-80212/

i would have to mount this gauges somewhere and i don't like that idea very much.

after reading this thread i think i will jump ship and get the separate tach and gauge

I got this in a couple of days ago. I love it. Its gonna look nice once I've got in in place.

Even the wiring on the back is done very clean and neat

I got the fuel pressure sensor installed on the fuel rail

This was a PITA. The 84's use a 3 wire oil sensor. So the modification that need to be made was both the new and old sender have to be used per vetteaid. Its very difficult to get any wrenches in there so you have to have a LOT of patience. The tan wire needs to be cut and connected to the additional sender

All the difficult stuff is done.
These are the two new gauges I'm installing in the center section. Fuel psi/Vac. Notice all my joints I'm using the butt splices with the solder built in. I found that these are easy to use. You can purchase them at home depot for just a couple bucks. The plate comes from Vetteaid as well.

These kits look nice but its really easy to make your own.

These panels were made from MDF, fiberglass/bondo, and acrylic. Big upgrade over the Atari dash!

Here it is.
Installation isn't really all that bad. Fitment is ok but I have to come up with sometype of spacer thats about an inch for the right hand side of the cluster. You'll see in the video. Hope it helps anyone that is looking to get one.

This video will show you all the gauges and there operation and so on.
Not sure how to embed the video, so if anyone knows how feel free.
thanks

Looks great. Does anyone have an opinion on install an a late model dash? it looks like it would be a bigger job.

How did you set up the vac and fuel pressure gauges? What did you use to get those readings and how did you run the wiring?
