Vibration problem
Since you are military, I'm guess you have a hobby shop on base? The one here in Italy either lets you do it yourself, or you can watch/help the mechanic do it. They are the only place in Italy who can do my tires.
I've been looking at these kits from Mid America for awhile. It's just pretty far down on my list right now.
"Extreme" kit

"Sport" kit
A bit over your 1500 bucks, but I'm sure you can swing it.

OH, and WELCOME!!!
Tons of information and knowledge here. No one person can tell you what a forum post can tell you.

....and Thank you for your service !

I'm sure you'll enjoy it as much as everybody else does...its love.
Regarding the suspension, you will get out MUCH cheaper if you simply get the Corvette suspension "right"...mostly bushings and joints. Ball joints, control arm bushings etc. IF needed.
On the rear, choose wisely on toe rod assy (critical for safety) and use poly bushings on the sway bars and control rods...not everywhere.
Change any bad hub assys, loose bearings make loose Corvettes, and you;re set.
Too many of these "kits" end up so harsh that the car becomes work to drive and thats when it quits being fun...
Bilstein shocks, some good springs frt & rear and you;re set. It'll never handle like it should without maintaining these basics...its a Corvette...it handles just fine, when its "right". Personally, I've never driven anything that was so forgiving and capable of correcting driver mistakes, like a good C4 Corvette will do...

Have fun !

leesvet is right about the kits though. They will make the Corvette a little far into the "rattle your skull" stage. But, if you live in an area that actually cares about the roads (not California) and repaves them at least once every 10 or 20 years (not California) then you should be able to handle it. The kit also recommends a lowering kit. It's just a longer bolt that is higher grade than the stock.
I don't have the kit myself, but I've been in a C4 with one. It does rattle the head a little, but it'll put your brain to the side of your skull around corners.
