I just had the automatic transmission rebuilt on my 1991 and after that I have noticed to things.
The first one is that when I'm driving with the cruise control engaged and I push the stick to neutral, the cruise control doesn't disengage and the revs increases rapidly. I didn't notice that behaviour before the tranny broke (never tried) so I can't really say it started afterwards. Can anyone tell if this behaviour is correct? If not, what could be the reason.
The other thing is that if I'm driving with the cruise control engaged suddenly the shift up indicator may come on for a while. Why is that?
Car should only start in Park or Neutral. You need the neutral switch adjusted. Take the car back to the shop that repaired your transmission and make them do it right this time.
Sorry! Perhaps I used the wrong words. I'm not native english.
I mean, with the engine running if I put the stick on 2 and then drive off, shouldn't my car take off on the second gear instead of the first gear and then second.

No, the car should start off in first gear and will shift to second when appropriate, depending on throttle, speed, etc. If it doesn't do this, it was not rebuilt correctly.

That's the way it works so I guess it's allright then. Allthoug I read in a GM manua for the 4L60e that 2 means 2. Only!!! Is there perhaps that one of the differences between 4L60 and 4L60e?
It's hard to reply without seeing what you read. I have never heard of a factory auto transmission that would not start you off in the lowest gear when standing still.
The later transmissions (not sure exactly which ones -- I think it's the 4L60E) will start out in 2nd gear if you put the shifter in 2nd. It's supposed to reduce wheel spin if you're in snow or mud.

Huh. Learned something new today. If you are in 2nd and punch it, will it downshift to 1st?
I don't think it will downshift from 2nd to 1st if you have the shift lever in 2nd.
I autocrossed my '86 from 1986 until 2002. I put the shifter in 2nd and it would start out in 1st and upshift when it needed to.
In 2002 I got a 2003 and started autocrossing that car. I put it in 2nd and couldn't figure out why it was so sluggish off the line. I finally read somewhere about the "shifter in 2nd - starts out in 2nd" "feature". From then on I start out in 1st and upshift if I need to (or let it hit the rev limiter, which does happen).
