Service ABS light
Hi Guys,
My Service ABS light came on, and I tried to retrieve the codes by shorting A and H on the ALDL and reading the flash codes, but no flashes. I took the car to a shop and they pulled code 63 - Solonoid Valve Relay. From the FSM I learned that if the ECBM sets code 63 or a couple of others it disables flash codes. I pulled and checked the relay, it is fine. So I can follow the FSM and look into other possible causes, but my question is, if I do something like fix a loose ground, do I need to reset the code, or will it reset itself after the problem is fixed? I don't have a scan tool, and since the flash codes are disabled the reset procedure of shorting A to H four times won't work. I don't want to keep looking for a problem that I already fixed! Also, if I get a scan tool, do I need to get a Tech 1, or can the Snap-On MT 2500 do the ABS?
Any help would be appreciated!
