I just got my Ed Wright custom chip back and the revlimiter is set somewhere over 6100(i've been to chicken to find out how much more) I would like to up my shift points to 5800-6000 at WOT.
I've been told that with my '93 tranny there is a cable comming off of the ASR module that needs to be adjusted, there are 4 cables, 1 doesn't have an adjustment, one goes to the throttle boddy, one goes to some mechanical thing over the battery, and the last one goes across the top of the engine by the firewall to something unknown.
Which cable do I need to adjust? and do I need to make it shorter or longer?
Vic is correct!! the tv cable is the one going down to the transmission, and it has more of a effect over the shift firmness, and part throttle shifts. It basicially controls pressure. The way to change the wot shift points is to work on the govenor. You can get a kit from B&M for this.
Well I'll give you my opinion on how it works. It spins somewhat like a gyroscope. it has weights that move with increase of rpm, and the springs hold them back. By changing the weights, and or springs, you can alter the shift points.
