I am doing a complete brake job...replacing the seals and boots, new pads and rotors on all 4 wheels. I first disconnected the right rear brake line and let it drip into a white plastic tub, and then took the caliper off....after I happened to look into tub and the brake fluid is green.
Now I live in the desert Southwest and this vehicle came from Long Island...and I left Missiouri a long tme ago....but is there some kind of brake fluid that is meant for cold regions or something??? I have never seen green brake fluid before. The fluid at the master just looks black.
I've seen brake fluid with a green tinge to it. Likely depends on the brand and if it's DOT4 or DOT5. If the fluid in you MC looks dark, you should be doing a complete fluid change. Actually, you should be changing it evey few years anyway.
Oh yes....I will be doing a complete flush of the brake system...that is for sure!!!
I was just curious about this green brake fluid and what someone might have put into the brake system.
