What kind of RWHP #s are you guys getting these days w H/C 350 LT1/4s? Anything new and great as far as parts?
How did the LT1 AFR Eliminators work out?
I have not been in the C4 section much in last 2 years, the AFR Elims. were all the rage and just coming out when I was last here a lot, but I don't see many posts, and they seem in stop in 2010.
It depends on how the exhaust is setup and how big the cam is. The numbers can vary dramatically. theres a few guys on ls1tech hitting 430 rwhp out of an aggressive cam with trickflows.
I've not seen the big jump in HP since the Eliminators came out.
I'm still running the same old ported LT1 heads/cam/headers and putting out 375/345 on a stock lower end. It seems like the bigger number LTx engines are in F-Bodies. I'm assuming quite a bit less drivetrain loss.
Straight axle will get more to the ground most times.
Think the big thing with the AFR is you can still get more power throttle response and torque with a smaller port.
By the time you get an LTx head to breathe good they get to be a little on the biggish side. Not that its bad, technology just offers something better. Wish I could afford a pair! They are pretty nice.
there's a big section of dyno results over on ls1tech. to keep it reasonably driveable, 400-420 is about the max for the street I'd say.
Yeah I did a LE2 LT1 H/C back in 06 and made 402rwhp, still drives great w 133k on it. Was just hoping since the AFR E.'s came out and everyone was just getting in to them and the time and seemed very promising that there would be more using them and maybe some at 450ish (and maybe some 383s w 500) as they seem comparable to ported LS1 heads as far as flow. 300cfm?
Theres plenty of guys using them seems they are more into track times than dyno #.
Mark Bychowski did a 3.62 stroker on his with a conservative cam and made 47x rwhp. Nice combo with AFR

Yeah I remember his build, but that was probably 2 years ago, just thought there would be a lot more talk about them.
i'd like to see if the new AFRs have something in them, but that's a lot of coin and not many guys investing in LTx. Advanced Induction has some nice setup of TFS heads too.
If I need another motor, it's hard for me to say I'd keep the lt1 and not switch over. I'm running the efi 24x setup on mine and let me tell you, it's like a different motor, especially up top.

I built this with driveability in mind rather than max power so there may be some more power to be had at the expense of street manners.

I'm building mine with this in mind, driveabilty. It seems that as you go higher in horsepower above 400-450 that the ole 350/383 gets a little rough near idle at the street light depending on cams. I'm not an expert on this, but I've read that if you do go to 1 3/4" headers that you'll lose some low end torque, but pick up some high end horse power. I bought my 1 3/4" headers before I learned this. No big deal.
