Power antenna won't go down.....????
I just got home and my power antenna on my 88 corvette is stuck in the up position. I can here the motor running correctly but the antenna doesn't move. There is a little up and down play in the antenna also. Like it is loose or something. What Happened and what to do to correct this. Much appreciated.

Same problem here. Most likely, the ribbon cable is slipping or broken. You can buy the mast replacement (comes with the ribbon cable) for about $20. Not too bad of a job.

yep, I just did mine, same symptom... the dealer has a replacement mast, which is roughly $20... and there are instructions in the package, and I also used the tip in the tech tips section to do mine... chances are you will have to get under the back and drop the whole thing down... it took me about 3 hours, but I work slow, and thouroughly cleaned all the internals before I put it back together... and the real fun part is getting it back on the mounting bracket straight again! but It can be done... good luck...

This is the GM mast kit. If the ribbon isn't broken off inside the motor, you can replace the mast in less than 5 minutes. :cheers:
