Have a 90 and wanted to know what scanner would work best for the car. I prefer not to use a paper clip and watch for the flashes to determine problems with the car.

Would the below scanner from Sears work properly?

FYI, your link is no good.

From what I know Sears sells, you might get one that reads codes, gives you some basic engine scan data and that will be all.

I would browse e-bay and craigslist, I have bought two used scan tools off there with good luck. I got an old Actron CP9110 (one was just for sale in the parts for sale section). Also, a OTC Nemisys (1200 new) for 350, does all Domestic 84-07 ECM, Air Bag, ABS, etc...Asian 96-06 ECM, ABS, etc...heck of a deal for 350.

ON my 93 the OTC, can do ECM, ASR/ABS, Air Bag
No CCM or SRC, but those can be accessed via flash code diag. and On Board Diagnostics with the CCM w/FSM procedures no big deal.

So depending on your needs/wants will determine how much you spend and how good of tool you get.

Sorry about the link.

I found this Actron

Will it do the job for me?

For OBDI, if you have a laptop Datamaster and an ALDL cable from Moates is a good way to go.
