Default So This is why my L98 blew up.

I sold my L98 that lost some cam lobes. I thought it was my fault. Turns out it was a faulty cam. I bought a regrind from E bay. That was a very expensive lesson learned.
I'm now doing a LSX swap and I'm $3639 into it so far. So far I have made $2945 to offset the cost from sales of my old stuff. If I remember correctly I had about $1500 invested in the old set up.

The guy I sold it to pulled the cam and sent me pics. It has chunks Missing. WTF

I tell you what I will never buy another used cam. I have never seen a cam loose chunks like that, just weird.

Sometimes cam lobes are welded up to restore or create lift. This could be a bad weld job.

It went 1000 miles before I saw any issues with it. I am going to call them but i'm sure it will go nowhere.

Looks like a botched weld job. I have a Delta regrind flat tappet (comp HE256 grind) that I may use in a motor, they seem to have a good rep. Was this one a Delta?

..... I don't understand why on earth you would use a reground cam that wasn't some exotic or custom set-up when new flat tappet cams sell for like $125 ??? ..................

all parts... are getting scary from "high end" to no names... you have to inspect every micron
I had 2 CC cams in a row. the gear was off 2 Deg on the cores... destroying the distributor gear in less then 1000 miles... same thing with a friend with a wolverine cam

I showed proof at least got a billet cam... hmmm no issues with the billet....

I would hope they... would compensate you... lol.. but not another cam

E baycan kiss my you know what... They have a good rating .... but what is the warranty ..30 days ? if GM gave us 30 days they would be out of busyness.I have a mind to smear their name all over the internet. With my luck I will end up paying for a law suit.

Iskendarien Cams & Crower Cams.
There is no substitute for me.
Anything else I won't accept & install into my own engines.
Extra $ spent is worth every penny.

Regrind & welded up cam lobes are just asking for problems.
Even in a daily driver.

In a high RPM race motor ?
just set your car on fire..............
Get the job done quicker destroying all your hard work & hard earned $$$.
