Default flywheel neutral ratteling ??

got the new Stage 1 SPEC clutch and flywheel with xtra mass on the flywheel and STILL have the loud neutral banging. Of course holding the clutch in makes it go away. Anything to do with that bearing? I forgot what its called..I called them and all they said was either bad break in or faulty part. But others have this problem.. Seems like a high priced item like SPEC should not have these issues. I am NOT happy.

I can deal with a little bit of chatter but the noise sounds like my tranny is only holding in by 1 bolt and going to fall out. Nothing is loose or broken. Maybe my clutch fork or something? Anyone ever dig into this situation?

you have the zf6 transmission? did you go with a sprung hub disc or solid? My previous clutch was a solid hub with a single mass flywheel and at idle clutch out i thought my transmission was going to fall off the car. Sounds like rocks in a can LOUD

I am not sure. The pressure plate had a bunch of smaller springs almost sideways in the disc..Does that tell you anything? How do I find out for sure?

The SPEC flywheel is not a dual mass FW. I think the extra mass is just going to quiet down the noise a bit. I don't think it will eliminate it. If you want to eliminate it, you are probably going to have to get a used DM FW. You may be able to contact ZF Doc for a fix, but short of that it's just something you have to deal with.

This is a sprung hub disc:

This is a solid hub disc:

If you no longer have a Dual mass flywheel like from factory then you really need to have a sprung hub disc. it will help cut down on that chatter. If you ever seen a oem DM flywheel you'll see how a sprung hub disc will act much like it and help cut down on the noise.

you don't need to use a factory DM flywheel. But there is one for sale:

I run a spec stage 3+ sprung hub disc with a spec single mass flywheel and the noise is very minimal now

You are confusing the pressure plate with the clutch disk. The clutch disk would be the one with the springs.
