Well I'm slowly getting closer. I spend most of my time waiting on things to show up in the mail. If I was one of those guys who knew what he was doing then I could have ordered everything I needed at once and been done awhile back. Alas I'm not so i wait for the UPS guy all the time. That and troll through the hardware store looking for parts.

I am getting closer though:

Here's one of the piece i had to buy to keep my MAF happy.

I had to build a bracket off the plenum to get my AFPR where I wanted it:

When my valve covers get here tomorrow I can put them on and the new belt on and maybe have it going Monday I hope. We'll see. I plan on borrowing some ear plugs from work this weekend for when we fire it up as my headers are about 5" from hooking up to the rest of the exhaust.

Looking good. So what have you done other than the FIRST intake and the roller rockers?

Well I had a blown head gasket. So I bought some AFR195's from Jim Barth. He had the roller rockers and a cam which I also bought from him. I had a set of long tubes sitting around from earlier that I had never put on and then I bought the FIRST. I also bought a mail order tune from PCMFORLESS to keep me from blowing anything up until I can get it to the dynotuner.

I'm kinda hoping that this fixes the blown head gasket....

I have nothing but good things to say about him. He's never been too busy to answer a question.

Well I'm thinking Friday I'll be able to drive it. Just a couple little things left to do. The dipstick tube needs to be properly bracketed and I must get a starter blanket on. I also am adding emergency pull cables for my hood and my Dad is coming up with a stronger method to hold the cables since both clips broke on me. I'll probably post pics of that when I'm all done. I posted a start up video in another thread but i didn't have my TPS set up right at that point it wasn't even functioning and it was messing up my throttle response. Plus I had my knock sensors off since i had to splice a new connector on one.

We also had to fab connectors to get the throttle cable and the transmission cable to hook to the FIRST throttle body so that's done. In the future we'll need to do the cable for the cruise control. But for now is the oil dipstick tube and the hood releases, then I will be able to go for the first test drive. I think it's going to run a little rich until i can get to the Dynotuner-but i think it sounds really nice.

Of course I think anything that didn't involve knocking, rattling or banging was going to sound good. Me and dad made temporary pipes to go from the long tubes to the y-pipe(about 5inches worth) since i wouldn't have been able to hear anything at all with it in the garage and open headers.

The intake is beautiful. How's the hood clearance? Where is the throttle body location compared to the stock location?
