Hi. I am purchasing a master cylinder for my 88. I am thinking of going with new as opposed to rebuilt. I got a price from one Napa store saying there are two kinds of new - one with a 1 year warranty and one with a lifetime warranty. The lifetime mc is about $70.00 more.
My question is - what the heck is this? Is the lifetime that much better? If I buy the 1 year I should worry about failure sooner? Sorry - just never heard of this kind of deal.
While we're on the subject what do you all think of rebuilt over new? Thanks people.
I bought a rebuilt one with a life time waranty. That was 18 months ago. I'm on my third unit since then. Each time I took it back and got another - no charge. I really got good a bleeding brakes!
I'd go with a new one - one year warranty. The life time is good for rebuilts, but the new one ought to last 90k miles or so.
