Default Water leak in engine, driver's side????

Took my '87 out of winter storage & soon after, had a puddle of water under the driver's side of car. Leaked a couple of times afterwards (not lots, just a couple of ounces). Fluid level still high. However, started to leak today on way to work, but then stopped. Later, after leaving it run almost 2 hours, it spitted out again. It's almost like it releases pressure, then stops. Tried to get it to do it again after I jacked it up, but it would not leak again. If it was a head gasket, wouldn't it leak all the time???? Have no idea why it will leak sporadically and not all the time. Any ideas????

Sounds like it might be an intake manifold gasket,

Mine leaked intermittently for a couple of days before it completely went away

Ok first thing to check is the freeze plugs, are they leaking, (I had a jeep that a freeze plug rusted and had a little trickle of water.) if they were leaking slightly the antifreeze would dry up on a hot motor and then show a puddle after the block cooled down. Next check the oil for any signs of water, not that a blown head gasket will always show up in the oil but you can check the dip stick easly. If thats clear take the plugs out from that side of the motor, turn it over and see if any antifreeze shoots out.

Best of luck, I doubt that it is anything with the head or head gasket but just incase I would go through the check.
