Default MSD Digital 6 questions

I bought a Digital 6. Where did you mount it? Please send pictures. Also did you have to bypass the tach filter for the digi-dash to work correctly?

Yes, I had to bypass the tach filter. Since you have to access the dial settings, I couldn't find a suitable place under the hood. I mounted mine on my roll bar behind the front seat in the rear compartment. I have easy access to the limit settings.

I won't need access to the dials. My rev limiter is set in the chip. I would like to mount it where you cant see it. I was wondering is there is any room under the battery? I need to look at that. If you mount it under the head light, it will get wet when you wash it. It doesn't seem like there is any good place on a Vette. I did a search and it seems as if the passenger headlight is the most common place.

On top of the batter, under the headlight, on the brace that runs near the heater box to the suspension.

Scorp. No room under the battery? I like the location near the heater box but the headers give off alot of heat there.

It is a tight fit under the battery. Plus there are all of the grounding wires down there. Also that location gets wet more often. I would think you would rather use the limiter on the MSD box than the one on your chip. The one on your chip is a fuel cutoff correct? The MSD is a spark cutoff (safer).

Your probably right about using the rev limiter in the MSD box. I'm going to check out the area under the battery and see. Maybe I could seal it off down there better or something. MSD claims that the box is waterproof.

I got the Digital 6 yesterday. Man there is alot of wires! I think that up near the headlight is the best spot. No room over the battery. It looks like a nice piece. I'm just worried about it getting wet. Instead of screwing it down, I'm going to use velcro tape. I need to come up with an idea on how to keep water off it when I wash the car.

I mounted mine in the rear compartment behind the passanger seat. I have had no problems and I have had it installed for about 6 months or so. The little shelf in the compartment is the perfect size and you cant see any of the wires becasue the are hidden under the car only issue I ran into is having to add the extra wire but if you do be sure to increase the guage size. :jester
