Default The New Guy..

Hi everybody, my name is Nick, I'm new to this forum, just like anybody else I have questions/opinions and just want to find out more.

So ill start off with gears, i have been doing research on google, still am.

I own a dana 36 with the beloved 2.59 gears GM1

heres my setup..

GM 383 ZZ base block
Ported Siamised long tube runners & Base
Long tube heddman Headers
52mm TPIS TB
24lb injectors
Aluminum Summit Racing heads
Rebuilt 700R4 w/ GM shift kit
TCI tuned shift points
Summit Cast 1.5 Roller Rockers w/ pushrods & valve springs
Kohumo tires
Z06 rims
332hp/416trq.
2.59 gears(next upgrade)
(owned the ATI procharger, sold it the next day)

:: I took the cam, the intake manifold w/ runners(ported) kept them and installed them to keep it a L98::

Now...my intention/tune is to take advantage of every lb ft or trq on my launch and SOME mid range rpm, im not so much concerned about anything over 4,000 rpm, thats old news

I'm looking for a nice gear I her 3.07 are great for a stock slightly mild L98 and 3.54 are good too, I dont want to spin at all, and aware i may have to change my diff housing to a Dana 44.

What is a good gear ratio for my setup?... 3.54?...3.33?

Welcome to the CF Nick

The 3.07 gears with the 700R4 will wake up your Vette and still get decent MPG.

You have a nice ongoing project, have fun
