Distributor gear

Distributor gear
Can anyone tell me on an 88 vette distributor stock the gear is a .491 shaft ? Was thinking on replacing with a composite gear and as i see it its a .491 can anyone verify that's correct please.

Apparently the distributor shafts are all the same size back to 1957. Check this chart:

Its very confusing... Summit and Jegs both list .491 and .500 for small block and big block chevy...The distributor gear Pete K told me to get when he built my engine is the Accel gear thats .491 listed below, this is the same one he uses... It seemed to fit well...WW

Ok, my curiosity got the best of me. I had to go out , get my stock 89 distributor and mic the shaft.. This shows for sure the stock size is .491...WW
