Default 1990 Steering Replacement

Team, for whatever reason the Chevy guys used some unqiue parts in the 1990 Corvette Steering column. The question is can a 1991-96 column be used to replace the 1990 column. Internal parts for the 92-96 seem to be much more available. Anyone have experience doing this? Is the later conversion from OBDI to OBDII an issue?

Thanks

I just swapped a 1990 column into my 1991. The 1990 column is slightly shorter in the part that is in the engine compartment, and the airbag wiring is different. I have the 1990 airbag wiring and clockspring if you need it.

Thanks for the offer, Did you have any problems getting it to fit despite the slight difference?

No, it seems to work fine, I've driven a few hundred miles since then.
