I have a 94 Vette Convertable with a stock LT1. Has too many miles, 185K but runs, handles and looks great. recently, its been doing a stumble and has no pattern that I can tell other than it will stumble weather the engine is hot or cold, excellerating, idling at a traffic light or just crusing at 2000rpm. Its like I shut the key off. Also, at times, it may be hard to start, like there is no spark. if it does this i might hold the pettle to the floor and crank...weather this makes a diff, I dont know. onc e it does start it may run a little rough but clears up before I roll out. (maybe holding the throttle hold down makes it rich for a minute). Can anyone help me with this new symptom? Otherwise it runs great, good mileage, and uses no oil. Thanks!
Holding down the gas pedal while cranking turns OFF the injectors. It's known as "clear flood" mode. Anything over 70% of full throttle will put it in this mode.
Cliff, you said anything over 70% will shut off the injecters. when i do that and it starts, its rough and missing then it will begin to clear up. i did that last night to see if i could see and leaking sparks, found none. could there be loose or dirty grounds that is causing a shut down of the engine. its more than just a stumble. if i'm running down the road at any rpm its like the engine shuts off...but comes back on. like a hard stumble. if it does that while im sitting at a light engine will die. hot cold, no matter...
also, has anyone heard of this...probably not related to engine stumble. if i hit a bump my courtesy lights flash and the drivers door lock will unlock. this is just wierd... doesnt happen with every bump.

You likely have a loose connector or broken wire in the driver's door. Or the door jamb switch is loose.
