Default 1993 auto shifting hard

I have a 1993 Corvette with the auto tranny and today when I got into it I pulled it from reverse to drive a little to fast and it shifted hard. Now it is shifting hard into first. Does anyone know what the problem could be? Thanks.

a couple of questions:

How's the fluid level? And, when was the last time you serviced the tranny, changed the filter? Basics, I know but some people don't do this stuff regularly with their trannys.

The fluid was good. It was serviced about 1k miles ago. After I turned it off and let the car cool down everything is back to normal. Thanks for the help!

Hard shifting info 1st or reverse can be a sign of high idle with C4 autos. This especially happens when the engine is warm. Since you mention that it is good now that it is cool you should make sure the problem doesn't come back when it is warm.
