Default Running FAT

The other day going home one of my Co-works was behind me and he told me when I got on gas he said there was Black smoke as I pulled away from him.

I have a 383 with LT4 hotcam PCMforless tune.

The car is tuned for my set up but is this normal I was concern I could been running to lean at first due to the 24# injectors but now It seems it run Fat when you put your foot in to it.

I guess I need to find a shop around me that I can trust to put on the dyno and fine tune the car yep More money and the problem to find a shop to do this with out breaking the bank doing so.

Or, you can do what you contracted with PCMforless to do.
He takes a guess at your tune, you provide datalogs. Alvin re-tunes.
Process is repeated (at zero cost to you), until tune is spot on.

Datalog with "Datamaster" and e mail the results to PCM for less.
He will fine tune your tune.

For WOT you will need a Dyno or be able to datalog with a wideband.

Default Old School

I am old school 2 stroke carb dirtbike racer, guy I understand how to get a 2 stokes to run spot on and get it to scream in my sleep carbs I know how to make them work.

But this TPI stuff is still a new to me thats why I had PCMForless do the tune.

What is a Datalog where do I get a Datamaster.

I like the Idea of PCMforless do a retune with out costing me more money but like I said where do I get a datalog done or can I do it my self.

http://www.tunercat.com/
Look under datamaster.
http://www.akmcables.com/
For the datalog cable.
And a laptop.

Also Tunercat is the program used to tune the car.

I think mail order tuners err on the side of too rich as it's less of a problem than too lean.

I rather be rich than lean thats for sure.

Lean can be a very bad thing I going to pull the pulgs and due a plug readings and as long as they are out I will due a Compression reading also the motor has about 6000 miles on it now so it broken in now.

Get yourself a wideband. No guessing. Did you get your 425hp number on a dyno? You should have been able to get an afr reading at wot.

Marv, it's not just a wideband 02 sensor but a display as well. I have a LM-1 which datalogs for 20 minutes plus gives a realtime display. For me it has been invaluable. Here it is on the lower left. Willie

The wideband is just a tuning tool. It doesn't tune for you and has nothing to do with emissions. It simply tells you what the afr is at all times. You will need to install another bung in the exhaust and run the wideband 02 sensor in addition to your stock 02 sensor.

Default Looking for a Dyno in LA or Kern County Ca area

Well beening in Ca it time to get the car smoged I woundering will pass knowing it blows rich at WOT.

At normal cruise It seems to run clean.

So I started to look around for someone that can put the car on a rolling Dyno Tune the car around La or Kern County area that wont rip me off and charge me $700.00+ doing so if you know what I mean.

Plus I realy like to know on a real Dyno not on my computer program what H/P & TQ I realy pushing not just on a computer program.

So if anyone out there Knows some where that tunes and has a Dyno please let me know who to get a hold of.
