I just got Bilsteins for my 95 Vert. Just a fuzz over $300 for a set of 4. They made a world of difference and the car is much more planted now and the suspension actually works on rougher roads. I replaced the KYB's with them and the difference is night and day. IMHO
eitehr way, bilstein, they are usually good for 100,000 miles or more.
I replaced the Bilsteins on my 1989 Silverado Z71 truck with new Rancho shocks. The old Bilsteins had 250,000 miles on them. They didn't feel worn, no loose areas or play but I changed them because I knew they had to be bad.
Nope, after a couple of months with the Rancho's i decided to put the old Bilstein's back on with some newer shock bushings. The Bilsteins are better at 250,000 miles than the new shocks. I would say that they feel as good as new.
I can put just about any shock I choose on my vehicles and my Vette has Bilsteins, my Impala SS has Bilsteins and now my old truck has them also.
