Are you looking for higher capacity? I had a good dent in the bottom of mine, but was able to bang it out when I took it off to replace the timing cover and oilpan gasket.
I'm not sure whether or not if I need a high capacity. I don't think I do. Thats not a bad idea to just straighten the original out, and give it a nice shot of paint.
Unless your engine builder tells you otherwise, just use a stock volume or a +10% over (max) pump. I know three guys that are sucking all of the oil up top, and can't get it down in the pan fast enough. Aireated oil doesn't lubricate very well!
I bought the oil pan a couple of years ago from another forum member. The oil pan has never been installed. Since I'm planing on selling my C4, I have no use for it. If I were going to keep my C4, I would've had installed on my car right now along with a ton of other things I sold off. I'm looking to step into a C5 sometime later this year.
I believe the pan I have is for a one piece rear main seal SBC with the oil dip stick on the right hand (passenger) side. I also have a brand new Fel Pro oil pan gasket. As far as the price is concerned, how does $150 plus shipping sound?
Just one note though. Do you see the pic where the notch is for the oil dip stick tube? That tab is bent down slighty. I'm sure you can easily bend the tab back up with a pair of pliers however, I would put a spot of weld (from a mig welder) on the portion of the tab where it meets up to the pan for extra strength. I'm super critical of parts I buy and sell. I just I'd let you know what I thought of this oil pan.
Wow, that is a very nice oil pan. Its a little more than I need, and I think it would go to use better for someone that races their car more than I do. Thanks for the great offer though.
Thanks everybody for the replies, I have decided to just use the stock oil pan(painted nicely) with a stock oil pump, should be just fine for 13 second WOT runs looking at several articles dealing with this type of thing.
