ZZ4 Upgrade
I got a quote from the well known Corvette Mike's in Anaheim to get the ZZ4 engine installed in my 1990 coupe. The ballpark estimate was $6500 for the new engine and $5000 to rebuild the L98. Are those good estimates, considering their reputation? The L98 has 240K+ miles on it and I think a connecting rod broke on Tuesday. Something broke...nasty clank when I tried to crank the engine and I lost the coolant...probably into the head because there is absolutely no external leakage. This was my daily driver and now that I got preapproved from my bank for a new car loan, it looks like my baby of 10 years will become the weekend mistress. I considered making this a project and putting the ZZ4 in myself but I live in a "Master Planned Community" and the association rules don't allow such a thing in your own garage. :cuss

I just did the swap a couple weeks ago and for what they are carging you for the install you could get a Super ram base,Plenum and runners and the cam that is made for the super ram 74219. For that price. Send the master of the house on a Vacation????? :lol:
