I have a nice 350 to put in my 87 vette. Only issue is it has no place for all the sensors like the l98 in the block. So question, can you by pass and still run the computer so I can use my TPI or do I just go carberated and not use the ecm at all? if i do that will it affect my 4+3 tranny? also this a driver side dip stick not pass side like the l98.
I had a LH side dip sticlk motor in my 86 for a while ther should be ports for all your senders.

There are no sensors in your car that will not go in the early block.
Most of the EFI sensors are on the TPI intake which you are swapping over
The holes in the older ( heads ) may be a different size so you need a adapter
Ask Marv02 how to do it
Knock sensor replaces drain plug on pass side
Your '87 flywheel will not fit the early motor so you need one to suit it if it hasn't got one already
If I remember I pullled the block drain plug on the R/H side to mount the Knock sender.
On the L/H side you have to remove one of the plugs for the oil temp sender also for the heads I used after market heads So I had to go down to Lowes and pick up some Brass Pipe adapters There like a coulpe bucks a piece.
great thanks for the input, i found out that the engine is a sbc 359 fir 1965-1976 i just need some guidence getting this hooked back up with the computer on board and the tpi
Hey I have a 5 Qt Kevlo (Pn 1074) oil pan for that motor with oil pump and pick up it 7 inch deep what needed for the C4 mot others sit to low to the ground and you habve a good chance of hit something and either putting a hole in it or ripping it off.
It heavy gauge steel oil pan very nice it just sits in my garage now I make you a very good deal on it.
