LS swap

Maybe a dumb idea. Anybody consider this ? When doing an LS swap in an early C4, seems like you could use a cable operated throttle body, and an HEI with this:

Then you could run it off the stock ECM (with a tune) and avoid all those wiring and interface problems. Yes, I know it would be batch fire and low tech, but it would make things simple.
Just an idea, running around in my twisted mind.

Looks like that is a prototype and never tried. It is also the only one available.

I like simple. But it seems like to big of a step backward ECU wise (for me).

No, you can get them from Summit or any GM dealer. Guys have converted LS motors to carbs for quite a while using this.

As I was reading this, exactly what I was thinking. They offer stand alone electronic spark control as well (w/o distributor). Designed to work with a carbed LS.
