Hello everyone, I think I need to replace my fuel pump. I am getting 10 psi with the fuel gage, Car will not start. I thought the problem was the IAC, and coolent temp. senser because the dash gage is not working. Somthing shorted out so I replased those sencers but still no go. I have 1989 Vete convert, with many mods. I replaced the fuel filter about 3000 miles ago. What fuel pump is the best and who has the best price.
I suggest to stay with A/C delco fuel pumps...usually they last a very long time.
Jeff Kopp aka(18carfan) on the forum sells GM parts for a huge discount.
Page him on a topic to get his ph# number.
Most fuel pumps go bad when you drive the car low on gas alot, say 1/4 tank before filling. The pump runs hotter and breaks down faster.Try avoiding this if you didnt know.
Also,Be sure to get the gasket and pump sock or strainer when ordering.
A/C delco fuel pumps seems to be good, and other store brands Ive read about dont seem to last as long.Im not a fan of GM parts but when it comes to the fuel filters and pumps, they can last a good 10+ years in my experience.

i bought mine at a local parts shop.....it wasn't that much!
When you replace the FP and have the little black connector below the mounting flange open polish the three brass contacts as they can become corroded and simulate FP failure. You might even try this before ordering a new FP.
The Walbro 307's are supposed to be good replacements and will work up to 600 HP! They are on sale at http://www.precisionte.com for $92. They fit right in just like the stock pump and plug right to the stock connector. Mine has never been run and I may be replacing it. Maybe we can make a deal.
