Default u joints.., replace proactively or only if they are broken

I've got my 93 diff removed to replace bad batwing bushings.

While its apart, would you replace the u joints? Car has 60k miles and is a 6 spd.

There appears to be nothing wrong w/ any of the u joints on either halfshafts or the driveshaft.

Id hate to replace a fine 'made in usa' part with a po$ 'made in mexico' part.

What would you do if you were me?

I'd replace them, find some actual Spicer units and replace while you got it apart. Considering your adding HP, a good idea.

DO NOT GET GREASE ABLE U-JOINTS, they are weaker. This is a performance car right, not a stupid truck.

Might as well do it since it's apart.

I'm doing that right now. Thought I had a u-joint going and when I got it on the lift it was a wheel bearing. But, since they have >40k miles on them ALL, I'm going to replace everything while it's apart.

Spicers are only about $25-$30/ea. so it isn't a huge expense either.
