Default 1985 clutch start switch problem?

Is it possible that the clutch start switch (manual transmission) could be going bad gradually? It seeems to be acting up. In other words, it starts 95% of the time with just a normal push on the clutch pedal. 5% of the time it seems that I have to really push hard all the way to the floor on the clutch pedal for the starter to engage. It starts fine. It just seems to be sporadic. Any suggestions? Also, does anyone know where I can buy a new original style switch?

Sounds like the switch is going bad, just unplug it and jump it over never have to worry about it again.I don't think you can get them at the dealer anymore.

You are correct! The switch is no where to be found. No longer available anywhere. It left me no alternative other than to disconnect it and jump the two wires. I did and it works fine now.

Clutch safety switches are for sissies, anyway. Or, for NHTSA.
