Default MAF Repalcements: Cardone or Micro-tech?

Hey guys...

To make a long story short, I am limiting my choices to either Micro-Tech or Cardone.

At first I was thinking of going with the Micro-Tech, since it's a new unit and has a pretty good warranty...Lifetime, I believe. But between this forum, and several Camaro/Firbird Forums, it seems these units don't have the best track record. Seems some have had a good experience, but more often than not, these seem prone to problems.

I believe the Cardone unit is a rebuilt Bosch, and I haven't seen much bad press on them, so now I am leaning towards one of them.

I'm sure many of you have been in this boat. I'm trying to simplify things a bit by choosing between one of these two. Would like to hear what your experience has been with either, or both of these units.

Thanks.

You might not believe this but when I needed a MAF I went to Advanced Auto Parts and bought one of the new ones that are imported from China. That was 3 years ago and it still works great.

I did keep my old Bosch because there are companies that can rebuild them. One day I will rebuild all of the parts that I have sitting around here.

I can beleive it...Very hard to find anything that isn't made in China anymore, but the good thing is...a lot of the time the quality is a lot better than what we remember as kids. Know what that one was branded as? Do they still carry it?

Thanks for the reply!

My MAF sensor went out a couple of weeks ago. I didn't want one one made in China (too many past problems with Chinese parts) so I just picked up a Cardone (Bosch rebuild) from the local O'Reillys. Car now runs perfectly. Haven't run any diagnostics, but everything seems to be fine.

Hi, and thanks for answering.

Are the Micro-Tech ones made in China?

I picked up the same unit you're mentioning earlier tonight at Advance. Bummed out 'cause it has a dent in the screen, but ony one they had in stock. Might try it on the car tomorrow, or may exchange it.

Good to know it runs perfectly with that unit though.

Thanks for the input!
