This one is confusing me. There is a 89 that I working on. No spark condition. Here is what we have discovered.
Info
1. Had the ignition module tested at a local part house and passed.
2. Check the pickup coil and it did not have a short to ground. It also had a consistent reading across the pickup coil. Believe it to be good.
3. Tested the ignition coil. It did not have a short to ground and the reading across the battery to tach was in spec. Believe it to be good
Questions
1. The car has a very old battery that I will be replacing. I have it on a booster and it has 13 volt at the battery lead to the distributor. When I crank the car it drops to 10 volts. Could this be so low that it does not have a good reference signal?
2. Cap test. What should the resistance from the distributor tower/ point to the primary side of the coil be?
3. If that battery/ voltage doesn't fix it what else should I check?

Reason: spelling
I did it was 13 key on and dropped to 10 volts cranking. It was cranking good so I didn't even think about it being to low. It was connected to the battery location not the tach location.
should start down to 9.5 volts, there's something called a terminal board , a plug that your module plugs into , make sure the insulation isnt rubbed off and that you're not grounding out to the dist. housing.
