TPIS catback or hooker headers??
I'm in need of an exhaust. Unfortunatley I can only afford the catback OR the headers. With my mods (in sig) what would you do first?

With no pre-cats now I think you will get more from the cat-back.
But if you intend to do both it realy doesn't matter in what order you do them.

Well do you like ths current sound or not? If you like it fine, id do headers first; might free up that SR.

I got a very nice gain from the TPIS catback on a stock motor.

The stock manifolds are killing your cam & superram. Get the headers & front y-pipe first.

Re: (scorp508)
I was leaning towards the headers initially, but the stock mufflers sound really puney.

HEADERS! Manifolds with no cats are in no way comprable to a set of long tubes.

Re: TPIS catback or hooker headers?? (Nathan Plemons)
What Brian and Nathan said. Dumping the OEM manifolds and the precats will give you a nice jump in power.
You will notice a difference in sound levels when you get on it even with the 'puny' stock mufflers.
If you want it to sound bad, stick a 3" catback on it. If you want it to be bad go with the full length headers. :)
