I have been working on a '95 with LT1 engine. Had to replace ecm and also the ccm. The car started and ran with old ecm but not the new ecm. reinstalled with new(used) ecm and programmed ecm with tech2 scan tool now car will not start. No DTC's set or stored but the security light flashes. Used vats interrogator and tech2 scan tool and ALL vats values are good but car still will not start. Reinstalled old ecm that car was started and ran on but car still will not start. Any help or suggestions would be very welcome. Thanks!
battery was disconnected during ecm swap. It cranked and fired but after ecm swap it does not crank or fire. I will check to make sure the new ecm "sees" the same vats value as the old ecm. If that does not work I will post and look for more help. I work at a dealership and have all the tools needed but just can't figure out what is going on with this car?????
I'm fairly certain that the VATS resistance values are stored in the CCM and not the ECM. If you changed ECM's that would not have helped the VATS issue. Could you try the old CCM and see whassup.
Since you work at a dealership I'll assume that you've done the Start/Key On three times to allow the new CCM to retreive values from the original ECM and let the resistance values sync up.
Check your literature for the programming sequence for the new/newer BCM. Although the resistance code is stored in the BCM it is also in the ECM. The learn/program function will allow it to work. Good luck. It's kinda hard to explain but it's really simple. I've got the procedure stored somewhere if you can't find it. Just let me know.
