I ran goodyears and they wear off real quick. So years back I found Firestone Firehawks 285/40r17. They took a lot longer to wear out, plus they were priced $160 or so. Cost less and last longer.
But, they're discontinued. Wish I could find one b/c I have one almost-new one and one that needs changing, on the rear. If I can't find the one, then if I want matched tires in the rear, I'll need to buy two !!
I drive on street only, any recommends for rear tires that don't wear out quick ? I prefer to buy an american brand. Or you could sell me one firehawk P285/40r17 if you have one just sitting around.... lol
..... Doesn't anyone remember just a few years ago when Firestone was selling May-pops to Ford and tons of Explorers flipped over killing dozens of people ??? ............. Ford and Firestone sued the heck out of each other but that didn't bring anyone back ....... In the 70's they made a name for themselves with the Firestone 500's ... Johnny Carson defined a three time loser as a pregnant nun driving a Ford Pinto ( they exploded into flames in rear collisions ) on Firestone 500 tires ..... Fords and Firestone ... you're betting your life on either of 'em ..............
