Default Headlight motor repair (1986 model)

The left hand headlight motor on my 1986 convertible will not cut off when the headlight retracts. Does anyone have a wiring diagram of the internals of the motor. If I'm real lucky maybe some one has a picture of the inside if the motor. :flag

There are contacts that open up as the motor is torqued at the stop. One set of contacts is for opening and one for closing. They are located at each end of the armature shaft. Sounds like the contacts are dirty or misaligned.

In my case the contact had broken off. The actual contact is riveted into a metal strip - cracks had formed on either side of the rivet that spread across the strip.

I don't recall seeing a picture of the innards, I just cracked the case open and watched what was happening when the shaft was rotated...

Good luck.
